About the course
Manage the data center development lifecycle from the project manager's seat: site selection, power and interconnection, permitting, and fit-out through commissioning. Learn where power-constrained projects stall, and how to keep them moving. 4.0 PDUs. The course runs as guided self-study: narrated module videos, review questions after each module, a practitioner case study, and a final examination. 4.0 PMI PDUs (Ways of Working, self-reported via CCRS), Specialized Knowledge field of study. What you will learn: • Identify the major phases of the data center development lifecycle and the milestones that gate each phase. • Evaluate a candidate site against the power, land, water, fiber, and permitting criteria that determine feasibility. • Sequence the interconnection and permitting workstreams against the construction schedule to surface critical-path risk. • Assess how power procurement options constrain or accelerate the development timeline. • Apply a stage-gate governance structure to a data center development program. • Recognize the commissioning and handover sequence for a mission-critical facility and the PM's role in it. Who should attend: This self-study course is written for project managers and finance professionals, and for PMP and other PMI credential holders seeking PDUs. Program level: Intermediate; prerequisites and advance preparation are described in the course brief.
